Policies & Program Values

Our centre staff and Board of Directors work to create policies that are reflective of our values and the families and community we serve. Policies are reviewed bi-annually and are a continual work in progress as our world changes around us we seek to move with the changes. Take the time to read our Policies and review our Program focus. Share with us as we are always learning how to be more reflective, inclusive, respectful, and thoughtful of practices to include all our differences. This makes up the beautiful community daycare family that is called Treasure Keepers Children’s Centre Inc.

Our Program Values

Indigenous Education

Indigenous Education

Our centre is dedicated to educating staff about Indigenous history and culture. This helps to better understand the role colonization and Canada has had in our past. Awareness is the path to healing our country and our former beliefs about indigenous peoples. We can move forward into a better future for all Canadians when we can empathy, acknowledge and do better than our past.

Circle of Security

Circle of Security

Circle of Security is a program that acknowledges the value of a secure attachment to child and caregiver. Secure attachment relationships with caregivers are a protective factor for infants and preschoolers, setting the foundation for social competence and promoting effective functioning of the emotion regulation and stress response systems.

Anti-Bias

Anti-Bias

An Anti-Bias approach involves creating a community that supports all dimensions of human differences, including culture, race, language, ability, learning styles, ethnicity, family structure, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age, and socioeconomic differences.

Understanding and acknowledging Equality and Equity-Equality means treating everyone the same and Equity considers differences.
